Publications - Moving: What to know before you go
Internet Service Another thing to consider when you are moving is your Internet service. Check to see if your current Internet service provider (ISP) has a local access number in the area where you are moving. Beware of using your old access number in a new area, as the call could be billed as long distance. Many ISPs have toll-free numbers for use when traveling, but usage is not generally free. Do you need to get a new service altogether? If so, research and figure out which company best suits your needs. Nowadays, providers of high-speed Internet services, such as DSL, offer much faster access than the conventional dial-up connection. You may want to look into whether you can save money and get one bill by bundling dial-up Internet or DSL service with your local and long distance service. |
